The Osservatorio di Pavia carries out researches related to media policies as well as mass communication on television, radio, the press and the Internet. Activities and researches are conducted at local, national and international level.

Managing Director - Giuseppe Milazzo | email: Giuseppe Milazzo

Senior researcher. His main areas of research is mass communication research, particularly political pluralism, gender studies and the agenda setting. Since 1999, he is lecturer on “Media and Social Research” for the International Master in Media Science and Technology at the University of Pavia and teaching assistant for the course of Methodology for Social Research at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Pavia. He is also involved in training activities on media analysis both at a national and international level. He has been Media Analyst on a number of international election observation missions, including Serbia (1997), Slovakia (1998), Kazakhstan (1999 and 2004) Macedonia (2000 and 2002), West Bank & Gaza and Yemen (2006).

Managing Director - Andrea Caretta | email: Andrea Caretta

Head of the Market and Brands Unit, he supervises a number of projects related to media coverage of brands and commercial companies. His areas of interest include marketing, brand analysis, crisis communication management and media profiling. He graduated in Economics at the University of Pavia and since then he has always been involved in lecturing and training activities.

Managing Director - Andrea Malnati | email: Andrea Malnati

After an experience as a journalist, in 1995 Andrea Malnati joined the Osservatorio di Pavia where he has been working as a researcher; since 2001 he is responsible for the Osservatorio's international activities and he was a member of the board of directors in the period 2004-2007. Since 1997 he has been employed as a media analyst in several international election observation missions (for the OSCE/ODIHR in Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Georgia and Albania; for the EU in Peru, Cambodia, Madagascar, Mozambique and Sri Lanka), and in Election Technical Assistance Missions (Peru, Cambodia, Nigeria, Ecuador).
