Which and how much Africa do we see through the Italian media? The answer is provided by the report “MEDIAted Africa” by Amref Health Africa-Italy. The survey – relating to TV, the press, social media and fiction, in the first half of 2019 – was conducted by the Osservatorio di Pavia and was presented in Rome on the eve of the World Development Information Day – established by the General Assembly of the United Nations (October 24).<\/p>\n
The research focused on 30 episodes of television series, 65 information programs of 7 generalist networks, 80,000 news monitored on the newscasts of 9 television networks, 800 front-page news analysed on 6 national newspapers, 21.6 thousand Facebook posts and 54,000 tweets from 8 newspapers.<\/p>\n
