The Osservatorio di Pavia has a long experience of training in various countries of the world on techniques for monitoring and analyzing the information conveyed by the media in the electoral campaign. Over the years, OdP experts have provided assistance and tools for learning analysis methodologies and for implementing media monitoring projects, working with international organizations, universities, NGOs and telecommunications authorities.<\/p>\n
This year, due to coronavirus restrictions, the Osservatorio competed with its first remote online training. Three organizations from Georgia benefited from the first online training, a country where elections for the renewal of Parliament were held on 31 October 2020.<\/p>\n
From May 20 to 26, a group of representatives of local organizations Internews-Georgia and The Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics participated in a series of remote sessions led by OdP experts focusing on various aspects, including:<\/p>\n

Media monitoring methodologies during elections<\/p>\n
Journalistic standards and campaign coverage<\/p>\n
Monitoring the visibility of women in politics during the electoral campaign<\/p>\n

After the first week of online training in May, the media experts of Pavia continued to provide consultancy and assistance to the Georgian organizations engaged in monitoring, to which the research center Caucasus Research Resources Centers \u2013 Georgia was added in July.<\/p>\n
The Osservatorio will continue to support Georgian researchers and analysts until the publication of the final report, which will contain the results of the media monitoring and which will be published after the vote in the country. A first report with preliminary results should be available in the first week of September at www.mediamonitor.ge.<\/p>\n
