The long-awaited municipal elections in Tunisia were held on May 6, 2018.
The Osservatorio di Pavia was in Tunis with its experts, to implement an assistance project for the HAICA (High Independent Authority for Audio-visual Communication) for media monitoring during the election campaign. This is part of a project funded by the PAET of UNDP Tunisia (United Nations electoral assistance program).
The objective of the project was to collaborate with the HAICA in the analysis of the main Tunisian audio-visual media, and their electronic sites, during the electoral campaign, in order to assess their compliance with the principles and standards in force, to report violations observed, to measure the coverage given to the various candidates and candidate lists, and to assess the contribution of the various media to a democratic, transparent and inclusive election.
