The “Foreign Affairs Observatory” meeting was held in Rome, during which the 5th edition of the Report “Lighting up the suburbs” was presented: at the centre of the investigation was the quantity and quality of the journalistic coverage given to news from outside the Italian borders.
This year’s survey highlighted how, although prime time news in 2022 dedicated 17,533 news to foreign countries (i.e. 41.5% of the total news), thus reaching the highest percentage in 10 years of survey (from 2012 to today, and with 10 percentage points more than in 2021), we see that the foreign page was indeed focused on a single event: the war in Ukraine.
